Your hidden talent is writing. You have a unique way of viewing the world and are able to express your thoughts eloquently on the page. Some people might think that you are weird, but you are just the next Pulitzer prize winner.

Note to self: someone is trying to tell me something...between forturn cookies and odd internet quizes, there is a message there somewhere.

See?! This is what I have been telling you for AGES :)

You said you had some problems with the layouts? The ones that you can chose from are just the basics. Depending which you chose you can customise it further. I use Component which I have added and tweaked considerably and only the bare bone is now Component.
I have found some cute coffee graphics, so once you say the word and also have chosen which S2 layout you want, I get cracking :)

I've checked out all the different layouts this weekend. I like Component the best because of its clean lines. I hope you don't mind since thats the one you use. If thats a problem let me know and I'll choose another.

I'm also a blue type girl, though the gray print is hard on my old eyes. I'm already in S2 so I went ahead and did the basic change as you will see if you check my journal.

Is there any way wo change the font. If I had a choice I'd like the name of my journal in Black Chancery in bold italicized (headers in general). And I always sign my Lattelady in Fine Hand, bold italicized.

Also could you teach me how to have sidebars for each of my tabs so that only someone who wants to read my fiction in a given catigory would see it by tapping a sidebar? I'd have the main part of my journal be The Coffee Shop, which is my personal scribbles.

Is it possible to add pictures to each story as I post it? (Like you've got at the Flightdeck)

Is this asking too much? Let me know any help you send my way is much appreciated.

Of course I don't mind. Component is one of the widely used (and most beautiful IMHO) of the layouts you can use :)

You can change the font if you go to http://www.livejournal.com/customize/ and then go to Edit Customizations -> Fonts - I don't know if LJ is having now a wider range of fonts you can choose from as they have done a lot of changes since they were sold, but if you can't find your favourite font in the drop down menu, I'll have a look and see if I can tweak it.

Sidebars are a bit tricky but doable: Go to http://www.livejournal.com/customize/ and instead of going to Edit Customizations you have a text link underneath which says Advanced Customisation Area.
Here you can change the code of your layout.
you just need to insert (and change) this in the component box you want to use:

<div id="Layer1" style="position:relative; width:210px; height:250px; z-index:1; overflow: auto; overflow-x: hidden;">
     your list of fics
</div>

You need to change all that is marked red

There is also a help forum for component -> component_help You can have a look there, and if you need help give me a holler.

As for different headers ... phew ... Never tried it but I know that you can have different color and headers for different pages, so it should be possible.

Una, I've done some work on my page, but it is only the changes that are offered. I'm a bit confused on the layering thing. I'll gladly send you my password if you could help me out. I know you're busy so if you can't, its not a problem. You've already helped me make a huge difference in my Journal.

Una, I've been doing some digging around in the customize section. I think what I'd like to do is remove the calander to the right and put in links. Each link will be one of my tags. I'd name tags SAAB, Firefly, Farscape, etc and stories from each of these fandoms would automatically show up.

Though I do have another journal I'd forgotten about. It is under the name Lattelady not Lattelady6. I could link the story there. And I thought I'd get an account at photobucket so I can have larger pictures.

Am I on the right track?

Happy Thanksgiving!

I need to get my holiday coffee cake in the oven so I can get my turkey stuffed. I made the stuffing last night, but never stuff it until just before putting in the oven.

Have a good day.
